Solmar Villas, the specialist villa company, has revealed last week was its best week ever for sales, turnover and hits to its newly developed website.

Hits on the website were up 50% from this time last year and last Monday saw a record number of visits to the website in the same day.

Solmar Villas has also seen booking increase by 23% and turnover has increased by over half a million pounds.

Julie Blake, Solmar Villas MD, said: “Given the current climate and other travel companies reporting a decrease in sales, we are really pleased to see such a big increase in our sales. As a family business, we strive to provide people with that perfect villa holiday offering different size villas to suit every budget. We get so many returning customers who holiday with us every year so we hope to continue to grow and give people more holiday memories to remember.”

Solmar Villas has invested heavily in the brand over the last six months, including ongoing PR support, social media activity and an increase in marketing.

Recent activity includes a Twitter charity auction in collaboration with Skyscanner.net raising more than £1,000 for the NSPCC and a partnership offer with Groupon, the online discount site.

Solmar Villas reviews its portfolio on an on-going basis ensuring new villas are being added all the time to give clients a wide choice of destination and villa styles. So far there has been an additional 70 villas added for 2012 already.
