A new fifty million pound terminal at Gibraltar airport is now open to the public, ensuring a quicker and smoother passage for travellers to the resorts of southern Spain

Solmar villas welcomes new terminal at Gibraltar airport

The two-storey 35,000 m2 glass and steel structure, which opened late last year, features an arrivals concourse, with retail and catering facilities, plus a viewing terrace.

Gibraltar airport is currently serviced by a number of UK based airlines such as Easyjet, British Airways and Monarch, with flights from London, Manchester and Liverpool.

From March 2012, Gibraltar airport will also have flights from East Midlands airport. This service will be operated by BMI. New routes are being constantly added.

The new terminal is situated adjacent to the border with Spain, giving easy access to the many popular holiday resorts offered by leading UK villa rental company, Solmar Villas, including Alcaidesa (14 km away), reputed to have the best beaches on the Costa del Sol, Sotogrande (20 km away), with its world-famous sports facilities and Estepona (50 km away), with its mix of English and Spanish residents.
