Company Releases 11 Apps to help people improve conversational skills

(TRAVPR.COM) WASHINGTON DC - December 22nd, 2011 - Hello-Hello, an innovative startup firm that develops mobile apps to help people learn new languages for their educational, business and travel needs, announced the release of apps in 11 different languages for the Kindle Fire tablet PC.

These apps will allow people to develop a solid foundation of conversational skills for languages such as English, Spanish, French, and Mandarin Chinese, said Sarah Gontijo, Hello-Hello’s founder and CEO.

Today’s announcement regarding the Kindle Fire builds upon the earlier success Hello-Hello has had in developing apps for other technology platforms, including Apple’s iPad, Gontijo said. “At Hello-Hello, we are committed to making our content available to the widest audience possible, which is why we are pleased that Kindle Fire users will now have access to our content,” she added.

These apps rely on a research-based methodology that uses dialogue based on realistic situations that business people, travelers, or students will find useful to help them be comfortable with their target language, Gontijo said. Hello-Hello’s content was developed in collaboration with the American Council for the Teaching of Foreign Language (ACTFL). The organization is the world’s largest and most respected organization for language teachers and professionals.

Gontijo said the apps feature the voices of native speakers, which is especially important when people are learning a new language. The more comfortable people are with hearing a new language, the easier it will be for them to speak it.

She also noted that mobile apps are becoming a vital tool for people who want to learn new skills. Technology research firm Gartner predicts that people will download 17.7 billion apps by the end of the 2011, a 117% increase from a year ago.
