TOURISM FIJI APPOINTS MICHAEL MEADE AS ACTING CEO

Australian Michael Meade has been appointed as Acting CEO of Tourism Fiji

(TRAVPR.COM) FIJI - December 20th, 2011 - Michael Meade has been appointed acting CEO of Tourism Fiji with immediate effect.

Annoucing the appointment, Minister for Tourism and Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said he was delighted to welcome Mr Meade to Fiji as the organisation begins to implement a new change in its strategic goals and objectives.

Mr Meade is high profile in the Asia-Pacific tourism sector having held senior sales and marketing roles with InterContinental Hotels Group, Sheraton Resorts & Hotels, South Pacific Hotel Corporation, Jin Jiang Hotels China and British Airways.

Mr Meade will be based in the national tourism organisation's Nadi (Fiji) head offices.

He replaces former CEO Josefa Tuamoto.
