Ski Europe Online, the specialist European ski travel agency, predicted this week that "not one British family will have to pay full price for a ski holiday bargain this Christmas".

(TRAVPR.COM) London, UK - 19th November, 2009 - Industry wide, sales for holidays during the Christmas week (traditionally one of the most sought after weeks of the season) have been incredibly slow; leading to most tour operators slashing prices for their remaining Christmas availability.

Comments Sammi Nisbet, Managing Director of Ski Europe Online: “It seems that, due to the recession, most skiers and boarders have left it very late to book a Christmas break in the snow this year.  As a result tour operators have been forced to slash their prices and there are now some fantastic bargains to be had.  On average we’re able to offer our clients savings of £1,200 per family.  I doubt anyone will be paying full price for a Christmas ski holiday in 2009.”

Ski Europe Online still has plenty of availability over the festive season at over 350 chalets and hotel across 79 resorts throughout France, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Andorra, Spain, Slovenia, Lapland and Scotland.  Here are just three examples of those still available:

Reduced by £1,200 per family, a week’s stay, departing 19 December, at the six-bedroom Chalet Larc (sleeps 12) in Les Arcs, France, now costs just £399 per person (was £699).  Situated a short walk from the ski lifts, facilities include pool, sauna and fitness area.  

Also available is the eight-bedroom Chalet Les Airelles du Montana (sleeps 16).  Departing 19 December, a week’s stay now costs just £509 per person (was £809) – allowing a saving of £1,200 per family.  Located in the French alpine village of Tignes, the chalet is just a short walk from the Aero-ski gondola and ski school meeting point, and an easy walk of 300 metres from the very centre of Le Lac.  .

Alternatively, a week’s stay, departing 19 December, at the Chalet Bachal in Méribel costs just £549 per person (was £849) – reduced by £1,200 per family.  Méribel is situated right in the heart of the largest inter-linked ski area in the world, the Trois Vallées, and as such is a favourite ski resort with celebrities.  Richard Branson, Seal and Michael Schumacher (owner of a chalet in Méribel), are all regulars on the resort’s slopes.  

Prices are based on two adults and two children sharing two rooms and include flights (departing Gatwick), transfers and seven nights’ chalet board accommodation.
